If there is one thing to know about me, I LOVE to clean out things…drawers, closets, cars, garages etc. I cleaned out my sisters closets (yes, that is plural) last year and found great joy in helping her let go of the dresses, skirts, pants that were HOT 10 years ago but not so much anymore. I hope to do it again as she still has way too much “stuff”. Her husband wont ever let me touch his belongings because he knows that I don’t take any prisoners when I am tossing things. I have very little emotional connections to clothes. Ok, I do have a little but not much. My sister remembers every time she wore said outfit and if there is ANY significance, she holds onto it. Ugh…drives me nuts. Anyway, Catholic High School in Little Rock is having it’s annual “Junktique Sale” at the end of the month. You can drop off any donations March 24-25. They will even pick up if your item(s) are too large. So…start cleaning out your house. Get rid of the excess that just weighs you down. It is for a great cause, so start donating!
Support the Mother Teresa Stamp February 17, 2010
The USPS is honoring Mother Teresa with a stamp! This is such positive and exciting news, and it is supposed to go on sale in August. Great news–heh? Well, some atheists groups are fit to be tied and they are petitioning the USPS to revoke the stamp and not debut it as planned. These are the same groups who have had no problem with stamps honoring Homer Simpson, Ghandi, and the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is a sad day when a person as humble and charitable as Mother Teresa–who truly dedicated her life to serving the poor–is demonized in this fashion. I urge everyone reading this blog to go to the following site and sign the petition encouraging the Postmaster General to move forward with the stamp as planned. The website is http://www.StampOutBigotry.com .
